Bringing significant experience of more than 30 years in the management of engineering assets, Steve Lambert has founded his own company, after working both locally and internationally in the fields of civils, road and earthworks, opencast mining, underground mining and crushing equipment.
The launching pad for his impressive career was with Samat Mining where his responsibilities included the onsite project management of the Malverne Tunnel Pipe Jacking Contract. He was headhunted ten years later by Stocks & Stocks Group of Companies where he attained the position of Plant General Manager with a staff of around 80 employees.
Steve moved to the Concor Group of Companies during which time his Plant Managing experience extended to include the Opencast and Underground Mining industry. This was followed by a two year employment period in Dubai as Arcon Manager for AI Naboodah Contracting, a ready mix concrete company with a monthly production of 140 000 m3 concrete, where he gained valuable international experience.
At the request of Concor Plant (part of the M&R Group of Companies), he returned to South Africa to the position of Technical Director, where after three years, he again was head hunted, this time for the position of Technical Director for Diesel Power Group (Division of Buildmax (Pty) Ltd).
Steve has also consulted for the credit committee of Stellar Equipment Finance Limited as an independent committee member.
A comprehensive experience in asset management has honed Steve’s expertise in pursuing optimum value out of plant and equipment, which is proven in his designs and the implementation of maintenance control systems. Combined with the compilation of plant rates (including the financial and maintenance aspects), and equipment LCCs (Life Cycle Costing), he has earned the distinct reputation for reliable management of engineering assets.
Steve holds a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and is registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technologist and is a member of the Institute of Professional Engineering Technologists (IPET).
